Korean mandolin

Korean mandolin

A Korean mandolin is on display at the Park Yeon Museum in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, on July 11, 2018. Park (1378-1458) is said to be one of Korea's three most revered musical figures, together with Wangsan of the Goguryeo Kingdom and Ureuk of the Shilla Kingdom. He adapted court music to the Confucian philosophyby combining ritual and music and compiled sheet music and measured the notes according to his own 12 notes. (Yonhap) (END)
