Pim Verbeek is the latest Dutch coach in charge of South Korea's national soccer fortunes. The 47-year-old leads his new-look Korean team into their first test at the 2007 Asian Cup on Wednesday - a Group D clash with Saudi Arabia in Jakarta. Speaking on Tuesday, Verbeek's confidence was overwhelming as the Koreans aim to end a 47-year barren streak at this competition. SOUNDBITE: (English) "My players are prepared and we will do everything and I think we can win the Asian Cup. Even if it did take 47 years for Korea, because they didn't win it in 47 years. It's time now to take the Cup back to Korea." SUPER CAPTION: Pim Verbeek, South Korea Head Coach. Verbeek has chosen veteran goalkeeper Lee Won-jae to skipper his side. SOUNDBITE: (Korean) Lee says: "All the players on this team and the coaching staff as well know we have one target here - to win the Asian Cup and bring it back to Korea. That's our goal and I know that the entire squad is focused and confident that we will do just that." SUPER CAPTION: Lee Woon-jae, South Korea Goalkeeper. The absence through injuries of English Premiership stars Park Ji-sung, Lee Young-pyo and Seol Ki-hyeon has temporarily dented Korean hopes. However, Lee did keep goal during amazing run at the 2002 World Cup.
