Home Grand Prix ahead for Ferrari as they aim to add to their Turkish delight... English Premierships stars van der Sar and van Persie preview Holland's crucial qualifier... And the search continues for missing adventurer Steve Fossett. F1 FERRARI After a one-two finish for Ferrari in Turkey, the 2007 Formula One World Championship remains poised for a close climax. The Italian team won't be short of support this weekend at Monza - their home Grand Prix the first of five remaining races this season. Lewis Hamilton still leads the drivers' standings on 84 points from McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso, with Felipe Massa now only 15 points behind Hamilton in third. SOUNDBITE (English) "It is the second season I came here as a Ferrari driver and it's the second time I came here after a win in Turkey. So, that's really great and hopefully we can do a great job, like we did in Turkey, for the Tifosi (Ferrari fans), for the Italian people." SUPERCAPTION: Felipe Massa, Ferrari driver Massa's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen sits a further point off the pace, but the Finn admits that pegging the young Briton back is going to be a tough task. SOUNDBITE (English) "It's going to be difficult to catch (Lewis) Hamilton. It's still 16 points, but we got many points in the last race, so we'll see what we can do. But we definitely haven't given up and we (are) catching on, not just on the drivers' championship, but also in the team championship, so.... that's where we try to aim, to win both and we're still fighting." SOCCER NETHERLANDS The Netherlands resume their Euro 2008 qualification campaign this Saturday, with Bulgaria making the trip to the Amsterdam ArenA. Anything less than maximum points for the hosts could prove costly. Marco van Basten's side are unbeaten in Group G, but sit third, three points behind leaders Romania and one behind the Bulgarians with a game in hand. The Dutchmen secured a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in Sofia last October thanks to Robin van Persie's second-half equaliser. SOUNDBITE (English) "I think it's a crucial game because we are both (Netherlands and Bulgaria) second in the pool, and I think that for both of us it is very important to win the game. We both realise that." SUPERCAPTION: Robin van Persie, Netherlands striker The Netherlands' recent form is patchy - they were beaten 2-1 in a friendly by Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland two weeks ago. But goalkeeper and captain Edwin van der Saar thinks this weekend will be a different story. SOUNDBITE (English) "Switzerland was not a good game and we have five or six training sessions before we have to play again. I think that a qualification game is different than a friendly, and I am sure we are going to put it right." SUPERCAPTION: Edwin van der Saar, Netherlands captain After Bulgaria, the Dutch face a tricky trip to fourth-placed Albania on Wednesday. Six points from these two games, though, and Van Basten can begin to think about planning for the finals next summer. ADVENTURE FOSSETT The search for millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett is set to continue at first light on Tuesday after he was reported missing in the USA's Nevada desert. The 63-year-old record-breaking pilot was last seen taking off from a private airstrip near the town of Yerintgon on Monday evening. Fossett was flying a single-engined plane, authorities were alerted after he did not return from a flight that should have lasted just a couple of hours. The solo balloonist and pilot, and friend of Virgin boss Richard Branson, has set 116 records in five different sports. Branson was confident his friend would be found safe and well, calling Fossett "a tough old boot." SNOWBOARD NEW ZEALAND The new FIS Snowboard World Cup season got underway at New Zealand's Cardrona ski resort, with both the men's and women's fields returning to the halfpipe. Ryoh Aono won three events last season - including a pair of victories in Calgary - on the way to securing last year's World Cup crown. Now 17, the Japanese prodigy carried on from where he left off in Cardrona, producing a flawless run to earn 45.1 points from the judges. Iouri Podladtchikov also put in a mistake-free run. But he would have to settle for second place on 43.2 points, ahead of Swiss team-mate Rolf Feldmann in third.
