  • Two of Major League Soccer's high fliers - Chivas USA and D.C. United - clashed at the Home Depot Center on Thursday. Hosts Chivas had only conceded two goals at home all season, but went behind to Luciano Emilio's powerful strike with less than three minutes played. Emilio was in the right place to make it 2-0 in the 25th minute after Brad Guzan failed to gather Jaime Moreno's shot. But a fluke goal turned the match around. D.C. goalkeeper Troy Perkins tried to send the ball back upfield, but only succeeded in hitting Ante Razov. Perkins scrambled back, but Razov was credited with his 105th MLS career goal. There was another touch of fortune about Chivas' second. Lawson Vaughn's shot deflected off Clyde Simms just before the hour mark to ensure a 2-2 draw. United take the sole lead in the Eastern Conference, meanwhile Chivas move to within two points of first-placed Houston in the West.
