An eight-year veteran of the Japanese leagues, Daisuke Matsuzaka crossed another cultural barrier in the Boston Red Sox locker room on Sunday night. The star pitcher took part in a late season tradition, whereby team rookies don a selection of character costumes. A couple of players wore pirate garb, while outfielder Jacob Ellsbury made a lovely 'Little Red Riding Hood'. But the most memorable sight was that of Matsuzaka and translator Masa Hoshino dressed as those adorable 'Teletubbies'. The fun went some way to helping Boston forget their earlier encounter at Fenway Park, a 4-3 defeat to divisional rivals New York Yankees.
