  • The New York Red Bulls entertained Real Salt Lake at Giants Stadium in the MLS on Saturday. And the hosts fell behind as early as the the 22nd minute when Chris Wingert's cross found an unmarked Chris Brown, whose header gave Real a 1-0 half-time lead. Just after the restart, Juan Pablo Angel flicked a header on to Francis Doe, who turned Real defender Matias Mantilla inside and out before making it 1-1. It was Doe's second goal of the season. 25 minutes later Salt Lake reclaimed the lead. Kyle Beckerman collected a cut-back from Alecko Eskandarian to side-foot the ball home and give the visitors a 2-1 advantage. The game was far from over and New York were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute when Seth Stammler was fouled by Carey Talley. Referee Alex Prus had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Angel converted to make it 2-2 and his 17th goal of the season saw him break the record of fellow Colombian Adolfo Valencia, who scored 16 in 2000. It was New York's third successive draw and they've yet to seal their play-off place. For Salt Lake, the draw ended their hopes of reaching the post season.
