The Top 16 stage of the Euroleague basketball competition - this is where the top teams begin to emerge. Wednesday saw the first collection of games in the second round of the Top 16, and CSKA Moscow are emerging as the dominant team in Group G. They saw off the challenge of G's other unbeaten team, AXA FC Barcelona, 72 to 55 thanks to a typically efficient David Andersen with 20 points. Somewhat surprisingly, Montepaschi Siena have risen to the top of Group D by virtue of their 79-76 overtime on the road win at Efes Pilsen - two from two for the men from Italy. And Spain's Tau Ceramica are the only other unbeaten team after they buried Fenerbahce Ulker 103 to 84 on home court - no fewer than seven Tau players hitting double figures to see them to the top of Group E. There were first wins in the Top 16 for Lietuvos Rytas and Panathinaikos. Group F leaders Maccabi Elite play on Thursday night.
