SEOUL, March 2 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Heavy Industries Co., one of South Korea's leading shipbuilders, said Monday it has won a 681 billion won (US$618.6 million) order to build four container carriers for a Japanese shipper.
The deal with Mitsui O.S.K Lines includes delivery of four 20,100 twenty-foot-equivalent unit (TEU) container carriers by August 2017, the shipbuilder said.
They are the biggest in size to date, Samsung Heavy said.
Samsung Heavy has clinched orders for six ships worth about $1 billion so far this year, it said.
