JEJU, South Korea, March 28 (Yonhap) -- A Chinese fishing boat on fire was rescued along with its nine crewmembers off South Korea's southern island of Jeju Saturday, the coast guard said.
The 70-ton Chinese vessel sent a distress call at around 3:40 p.m. Saturday, saying its engine room had caught fire, coast guard officials said.
The coast guard sent a 1,500-ton patrol ship and rescued the boat and its nine crew members, they said.
The Chinese boat was being towed to Jeju for repairs, the officials said.
