SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korean baseball club KT Wiz on Wednesday released their struggling pitcher Andy Sisco.

The expansion team in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said they are currently looking for Sisco's replacement, possibly a position player.

The 32-year-old left-hander began the season in the rotation before early woes forced him to the bullpen.

Sisco made 17 appearances with a 0-6 record and a 6.23 ERA. He struck out 42 batters in 39 innings.

Sisco is the third foreign player to be released from the KBO in 2015, following Nyjer Morgan, formerly of the Hanwha Eagles, and Zach Lutz, who used to play for the Doosan Bears.

The KBO teams can have up to three foreign players, with at least one position player, but the Wiz can carry a maximum of four foreign players in their first two seasons.

The Wiz entered Wednesday's action mired in last place at 9-38. They had the worst team ERA at 5.74 and the lowest team batting average at .241.

An official with the team said it's difficult to find a foreign pitcher at this point in the season, and the Wiz hope to develop their homegrown arms.

"We have problems in other areas, but above all, offense has been our weakest link," the official added.
