Park's special adviser for political affairs resigns
SEOUL, May 29 (Yonhap) -- President Park Geun-hye's special adviser for political affairs offered to resign in order to take up the new post of chairman of the parliamentary intelligence committee, a parliamentary official said.
Joo Ho-young, a three-term lawmaker of the ruling Saenuri Party, submitted his intention to quit his job as a presidential adviser earlier in the day, the official said, asking not to be identified.
The resignation came after Joo was chosen to lead the National Assembly's intelligence committee, which oversees the National Intelligence Service, Seoul's spy agency.
