ULSAN, July 3 (Yonhap) -- Four workers were killed and two remained missing Friday when an explosion occurred at a chemical plant in the southern coastal city of Ulsan, fire officials said.
Another worker, surnamed Choi, suffered minor injuries, the officials said.
A storage tank containing waste at the chemical factory of Hanwha Chemical Co. exploded around 9:19 a.m., they added.
The officials suspect that the blast occurred when the workers were doing welding work on the tank.
An investigation is under way to determine the exact cause of the accident, they said, adding that they will look into whether the explosion was a result of negligence by the workers.
