(Universiade) One archery gold secured for S. Korea

GWANGJU, July 6 (Yonhap) -- At least one gold medal has already been secured for South Korea in compound archery at the Summer Universiade; on Tuesday, the country will get to find out who the winner will be.

Kim Jong-ho and Kim Tae-yoon will clash in the all-South Korean final at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday at Gwangju International Archery Center.

Before their individual showdown, the two Kims, along with their teammate Yang Young-ho, will take on Mexico for the team compound gold medal at 10:25 a.m.

In the women's individual compound final, Song Yun-soo, another South Korean, will go up against Toja Cerne of Slovenia.

South Korea is also in the final of the mixed compound team event, where it will take on India.

South Korea is aiming to win five out of 10 gold medals in archery.

Taekwondo will begin Tuesday, with titles at stake in men's and women's individual poomsae, a demonstrative form of the martial art.

On Tuesday, Bae Jong-beom and Yang Han-sol will each contend for medals in the men's and women's competitions, respectively.

South Korea is eyeing at least five gold medals in taekwondo, where 23 titles are up for grabs.
