Trump: 'We have to be prepared for worst' over N. Korea
WASHINGTON, May 1 (Yonhap) -- U.S. President Donald Trump said he can't allow North Korea to continue what it's doing, warning that the U.S. should be "prepared for the worst."
"North Korea weighs on me, but we have to be prepared for the worst," he says. "We have to be prepared to do what we have to do. We cannot allow this to go on," Trump said in an interview with the Washington Examiner published Monday.
Trump said North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is "very threatening... saying terrible things."
The U.S. president added that he has pressed China to use its influence over Pyongyang to halt any further North Korean tests of nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles that could threaten the U.S.
He again expressed a great liking for Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling him "a very good person" and "a fantastic person."
