Trumps rules out military option against N. Korea: lawmakers

WASHINGTON, May 25 (Yonhap) -- U.S. President Donald Trump has approved a four-point policy plan on North Korea revolving around "every possible pressure" but a diplomatic solution, according to South Korean lawmakers Thursday.

A bipartisan group of South Korean politicians met with some U.S. government and congressional figures in Washington D.C.

They were briefed on the Trump administration's approach toward Pyongyang.

Trump signed a comprehensive policy report by the State Department earlier this month, the lawmakers quoted U.S. officials as saying.

It includes four main strategies -- not recognizing North Korea as a nuclear state, imposing every possible sanction and pressure, not seeking a regime change and resolve the problem with dialogue, they added.
