Sechskies to release first full-length album in 18 years
SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Yonhap) -- Sechskies, the iconic 90s K-pop band that had a successful reunion last year, will release its fifth full-length album this month, according to its agency Monday.
The album will be released on Sept. 21 and will consist of entirely new songs, YG Entertainment said, without providing further details. It will be the group's first new full-length record in 18 years since "Com Back," its fourth regular album released in 1999.
Having debuted in 1997, Sechskies enjoyed a successful run as one of the leading first-generation K-pop boy bands until it broke up in 2000. The team made a surprise comeback in June of last year by releasing a digital single titled "Three Words" under YG Entertainment.
Last December, the team released "2016 Re-ALBUM," a remake album of 10 previous hits, and earlier this year put out "The 20th Anniversary," which had two new songs -- "Be Well" and "Sad Song" -- and nine remastered versions of past hit tracks.
The five-member band has held a series of fan-related events marking its 20th anniversary this year and plans to hold a concert at the Gocheok Skydome in western Seoul on Sept. 23.
