Pohang Steelers acquire Paraguayan-born Korean midfielder
SEOUL, Dec. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean football club Pohang Steelers announced Sunday they've acquired a Paraguayan-born Korean midfielder Kim Hyun-sol.
The K League Classic team said Kim will join the squad after undergoing his physical Jan. 4.
Kim previously played for the second-division Brazilian outfit Clube de Regatas Brasil. Born Francisco Hyun Sol Kim, he has been called simply Chico during his playing career.
Pohang said Kim has permanent residency in Brazil but has South Korean citizenship.
"Kim Hyun-sol has great individual skills," the South Korean club said. "He's going to play as an attacking midfielder for our club."
Kim had a six-month stint in the second-tier Korean competition, the K League Challenge, for Seoul E-Land in late 2016.
