SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korea has spent some 240 million won (US$223,048) for North Korea's high-level delegation during their recent three-day visit for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, Seoul's unification ministry said Wednesday.

The total expenditure, which came from a budget set aside for inter-Korean talks, includes 130 million won for the delegates' accommodations, 50 million won for their transportation and 50 million won for their meals, the ministry said.

The 22-member delegation, which included Kim Yo-jong, the younger sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and the reclusive state's ceremonial head Kim Yong-nam, visited the South from Feb. 9-11.

During their stay, the top North Korean officials attended the opening ceremony of the Feb. 9-25 Olympics in the northeastern alpine county of PyeongChang, and met top South Korean officials, including President Moon Jae-in and Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon.
