LG's 21:9 aspect ratio monitor named best product by TIPA
SEOUL, April 19 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc. said Thursday its high-end monitor that comes with a 21:9 aspect ratio display was named best product by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).
The South Korean tech giant said the 21:9 UltraWide 5K Nano IPS LED Monitor was named "Best Photo Monitor" of 2018 by TIPA, an international organization that specializes in photos and videos.
LG Electronics said it hopes to expand its presence in the global monitor market through the recognition by the TIPA.
The company said it ranked as the No. 1 player in the market for 21:9-ratio monitors in 2017, and counting this year the fifth straight year it has held the title. LG did not reveal the shipment volume.
LG said monitors of this dimension are useful as users can post 16:9 ratio videos and still have room left on the screen to run other editing programs.
