YB to release live album of recent Pyongyang performance
SEOUL, April 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean rock group YB plans to release a live album of its recent performance in Pyongyang, its agency said Thursday.
The veteran rock band plans to release the three-track album, "2018 YB Live in Pyongyang," through digital streaming services next Tuesday, according to Dee Company.
The quintet, led by frontman Yoon Do-hyun, was part of a South Korean cultural delegation which held two rare musical concerts in Pyongyang earlier this month.
The 160-member art troupe included South Korean pop legend Cho Yong-pil and K-pop stars Red Velvet. A prerecording of performances was later broadcast in South Korea.
Dee Company said all proceeds will be donated to entities that "can help contribute to the South-North reunification and peace development."
"The album will be released in the hope of cultural exchanges extending beyond a one-off event and to contribute to a peaceful reunification of the Koreas," the company said.
The company also plans to release bonus content on the band's North Korean visit, including behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage and members' interviews after returning to the South.
