EXO, Red Velvet to rock Busan's annual K-pop festival in October
BUSAN, May 31 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy band EXO and female quintet Red Velvet will rock Busan's annual K-pop festival to be held in October, its organizer said Thursday.
The two highly popular bands will be part of the lineup for the Busan One Asia Festival (BOF) to be held from Oct. 20-28 in major public spaces in the second-biggest South Korean city, according to the organizer's release of an initial lineup.
This year's BOF, the third of its kind, will encompass a range of K-pop concerts and cultural events to be held at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, the Busan Cinema Center, Haeundae Beach and other symbolic public areas in Busan.
Since its debut in 2012, EXO has made its name globally with a number of hit songs like "Growl," "Call Me Baby," "Monster" and "Ko Ko Bop."
EXO's first full-length Japanese album was released on Jan. 31, which topped the weekly Oricon chart.
Having debuted in 2014, Red Velvet's three records "The Red," "Rookie," and "The Red Summer" topped the Billboard World Albums. The girl group was also among the South Korean pop musicians who performed in a historic joint inter-Korean concert in Pyongyang in April.
