Non-profit group to hold forum on Korean culture, image this month

SEOUL, Aug. 13 (Yonhap) -- The non-profit Corea Image Communications Institute (CICI) on Monday announced the list of 10 dignitaries who will participate in its annual forum this month, including a U.S. comics author, an Israeli memory guru and a Japanese pop art director.

The group devoted to promoting Korean culture and improving its image abroad will hold the ninth Culture Communication Forum (CCF) in Seoul on Aug. 28-29.

This year's 10 participating dignitaries are Olga Sviblova, director and founder of the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow; Indian film maker and photographer Benoy K. Behl; Chinese art critic and writer Qilan Shen; American comic book author Amy Chu; Israeli author Eran Katz, who is also a seminar leader on memory and intelligence; Japanese creative director Sebastian Masuda; Spanish PR expert Esther Sobrino; French actor and director Noemie Nakai; Singaporean chef Janice Wong; and Korean traditional food expert Kim Jung-ja.

An exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the CCF Night at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on Aug. 29 displaying the winning works of the CICI annual photo and video contest aimed at promoting Korea overseas.

For the past eight years, the cultural group has invited more than a hundred global opinion leaders to Seoul to experience Korean culture and engage in conversation on a wide spectrum of culture-related topics.
