Poultry-processing firm fined over unfair biz practice
SEJONG, Sept. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's corporate watchdog said Thursday that it has decided to levy a fine on Harim Co., South Korea's largest poultry-processing firm, over unfair business practices.
According to the Fair Trade Commission (FTC), Harim paid less to its subcontractors than the amount stated in their contracts. The FTC fined 798 million won (US$704,000) on Harim.
The corporate watchdog also ordered Harim to take corrective measures.
Harim's sales reached 822 billion won in 2016, with its market share in the local poultry-processing market standing at 18.5 percent.
