Seoul reports suspected MERS case
SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- A female flight attendant of an unidentified airline has been put in quarantine after developing possible symptoms of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), local health authorities said Saturday.
The suspected patient reported having possible symptoms of MERS on Friday, two days after returning home from a weeklong trip to the United Arab Emirates, followed by a brief trip to the United States.
The 27-year-old also spent four days in Osaka, Japan, before heading to the United Arab Emirates, according to quarantine officials.
The suspected patient is in quarantine at a university hospital in her hometown of Incheon, west of Seoul.
She has been tested for the deadly disease that claimed 38 lives in South Korea in 2015.
The results of the test have yet to come back, the officials said.
