S. Korean president heads to Denmark after ASEM summit
BRUSSELS, Oct. 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in wrapped up his two-day trip to Brussels and headed for Copenhagen on Friday to attend the inaugural summit of a global public-private initiative to tackle sustainable development challenges.
In Brussels, Moon attended the biennial Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit that brought together 21 Asian and 30 European leaders.
He held bilateral summits with British Prime Minister Theresa May, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. Earlier this week, Moon visited France, Italy and the Vatican.
In Copenhagen, he will attend the first summit of the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, or P4G, on Saturday.
P4G is a global network of government, business and civil society organizations to advance solutions to deliver on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement.
The forum focuses on challenges in five areas of food and agriculture, water, energy, cities and circular economy.
Moon will head home Saturday.
