Venue changed for S. Korea's football friendly vs. Uzbekistan
BRISBANE, Australia, Nov. 16 (Yonhap) -- The venue of South Korea's international football friendly match against Uzbekistan has been changed due to pitch conditions, the national football governing body said Friday.
South Korea were scheduled to take on Uzbekistan at Ballymore Stadium in Herston, a suburb of Brisbane, Australia, on Tuesday, but the Korea Football Association (KFA) announced that the match will be held at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC) in Nathan, about 10 kilometers south of Brisbane.
The KFA said it decided to change the match venue due to poor pitch conditions at Ballymore Stadium. The stadium, which can accommodate 18,000 spectators, was built as a rugby stadium. The QSAC is a multi-purpose stadium that has 48,500 seats.
South Korea, led by head coach Paulo Bento, will face Uzbekistan after they play against Australia at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday.
