Soldier dies after being found with gunshot wound to head at border guard post

YANGGU, South Korea, Nov. 16 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean soldier died Friday after being found with a gunshot wound to his head at a toilet within a guard post (GP) on the eastern section of the border with North Korea, military officials said.
The 21-year-old soldier, only identified by the surname Kim, died at around 5:38 p.m. while being taken to a hospital, they said. His rank was private first class.
Military authorities said they plan to investigate the cause of his death.
