(US-NK summit) Trump, Kim lookalikes vow efforts for peace
SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Yonhap) -- With the second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un just days away, some amusing pranks have offset the tensions running high in the venue city of Hanoi, Vietnam.
Taking on the leaders' signature haircuts and attires, a pair of men impersonating Trump and Kim appeared in downtown Hanoi on Friday and held a mock diplomatic ceremony, shaking hands and posing for photos.
"We're working toward peace. Through negotiations, with dialogue, we want to help North Korea of course," the Trump doppelganger was quoted as saying by local media.
The Kim impersonator expressed hope that the fake Trump would overlook of "all my nuclear missiles" and the lift sanctions on the North.
The Kim impersonator was identified as Howard X, a Hong Kong-based satirist, and a 30-year-old Canadian named Russell White was found to be the Trump impersonator.
The high-stakes talks between the real Trump and Kim will take place on Feb. 27 and 28.
