S. Korea watchdog pays 250 mln won in rewards to cartel informants
SEJONG, July 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's antitrust watchdog said Sunday it handed out 250 million won (US$222,000) in total to whistleblowers as rewards in the first half of the year for providing information about unfair business practices and collusion.
The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) said the reward was given to 11 informants.
The informants provided conclusive information about price rigging and other illegal business practices, it said.
The rewards for whistleblowers amounted to 851 million won in 2015, 835 million won in 2016 and 807 million won in 2017, according to the corporate watchdog.
